Stellar Development awarded
the renovation projects at the
Residence Innby Marriott at
Tampa Westshore, and the
Residence Inn by Marriott in
Charlotte, NC.
Avion Park Westshore is a
18-acre mixed-use development
directly south of Tampa
International Airport. Following
the hotels is a
136,000-square-foot
owner-occupied office tower,
managed by McKibbon Hotel
Management, and a
300,000-square-foot leased
office building,
developed, owned and managed
by Highwoods Properties.
Construction has also been
completed on a
21,000- square-foot retail
shopping center.
McKibbon Hotel Management
Inc., based in Tampa, operates
more than 60 mid and upscale
brands in eight states
throughout the Southeast.
The new hotel, opening
Dec. 12, has 144 suites,
featuring studio, one- and
two-bedroom options. Todd
Kinney is the hotel’s general
manager. He has more than
20 years of experience
and previously led McKibbon’s
Courtyard by Marriott Tampa
North.
“Our properties in the
Westshore market have been
performing substantially above
expectations, even in today’s
challenging economy,”
said John McKibbon,
chief executive.
McKibbon Hotel Management
will manage the new property,
Homewood Suites by Hilton
Tampa
Airport/Westshore.
