Position: Superintendent
Location: Sarasota, FL
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely project completion.
- Perform quality control duties and monitor the work being performed.
- Communicate with the project team regarding RFIs and material submittals.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with their contracted scope of work.
- Coordinate inspections with local jurisdictions.
- Identify and correct subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Maintain a daily log of activities on the job site.
- Conduct daily site walks to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
- Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings to coordinate work.
- Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors as needed.
- Keep the job site clean and organized at all times.
- Identify and complete job progress and completion punch lists.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Willingness to travel within the state as needed.
- Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking, and active listening.
- In-depth knowledge of construction best practices, workflow, and safety management.
- Strong planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation, and contingency planning.
- Understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership abilities, including motivation, goal setting, and conflict management.
- Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking.
