Connor Park is a transformative brownfield redevelopment project along the Manatee River in Palmetto. Once a contaminated rail yard and industrial site, the land has been remediated and converted into a public park that improves water quality, restores native habitats, and provides recreational opportunities for the community.

Stellar Development served as the General Contractor, overseeing extensive soil remediation, the construction of a 500,000-gallon stormwater reservoir, walking trails, a central pond with a fountain, and multiple community amenities including shaded green spaces, lighting, landscaping, and public art. Environmental innovations such as reef clusters and oyster habitats were introduced to support marine life, filter water, and enhance Palmetto Bay’s ecosystem.

The park officially opened in April 2023 and has since become a landmark community space honoring Francis “Frank” Connor. In 2025, the project was recognized nationally with the Region 4 Phoenix Award for excellence in brownfield redevelopment.
