Position: Superintendent

Location: Sarasota, FL

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely project completion.
  • Perform quality control duties and monitor the work being performed.
  • Communicate with the project team regarding RFIs and material submittals.
  • Ensure subcontractors comply with their contracted scope of work.
  • Coordinate inspections with local jurisdictions.
  • Identify and correct subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Maintain a daily log of activities on the job site.
  • Conduct daily site walks to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
  • Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings to coordinate work.
  • Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors as needed.
  • Keep the job site clean and organized at all times.
  • Identify and complete job progress and completion punch lists.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Willingness to travel within the state as needed.
  • Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking, and active listening.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction best practices, workflow, and safety management.
  • Strong planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation, and contingency planning.
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities, including motivation, goal setting, and conflict management.
  • Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking.
